A Community Carpentry Workshop in East Sussex
Join our local sustainable woodland project & connect with the land.
We are a CIC (Community Interest Company) set up in 2025 to create a community carpentry workshop.
Our vision is to ensure the sustainability of the woodland estate, with the involvement of volunteers from the local community and our partners.
Our plan for 2026 is to complete a Timber-Framed Workshop built by course attendees and volunteers, using local resources and materials. We are lucky to have that resource right here in Plashett Wood.
Our courses will teach heritage woodland craft skills and we hope to work with local organisations, colleges and schools.
We look to train young people and get them interested in the process; growing natural materials, conservation of a sustainable resource, all the way to building the finished product.
Timber-Frame Building Courses September 2026
We are building a timber-framed barn for our community carpentry workshop this year.
